Dawud (A.S) ruled the Children of Israel (Banu Israil) for a long time, seven years in Hebron (al-Khalil) and thirty-three in Jerusalem, which got to be known as the City of Dawood. He was the first individual gifted in making protective layer from iron . Dawood (A.S) is said by name 16 times in the Holy Quran . Here is the grave of Prophet Dawood (A.S) called Maqame Dawood. Some are of the perspective that is just the maqam (landmark) and he is not really burried here.
